Supporting Phonological Awareness

The Supporting Phonological Awareness section aims to develop a whole-school understanding of the importance of phonological awareness, and how this can be developed as part of the teaching of phonics to support reading and spelling. The professional learning is in two parts, designed so that schools would begin with Part 1, providing time inbetween Part 1 and Part 2 to develop aspects in practice, and time after Part 2 to further develop principles into practice prior to moving on to another aspect of the whole-school literacy, language and communication toolkit.
