Following the ‘Introduction to the Literacy Toolkit’ training during the February inset, new resources have been added to support the delivery of the Literacy Toolkit.

The first is Learning and Teaching – A Focus on WritingThe objective of this PPT is to explore the ‘Learning and Teaching – A Focus on Writing’ guidelines to improve attainment in writing by fostering high quality learning experiences as described in the Writing Self-Evaluation Check-list.

The second is a resource which can be used to support The Literacy Hub concept within Highland schools.

We hope you find these resources useful, and welcome feedback on their effectiveness in enhancing Literacy and English within Highland schools.

A colleague recently recommended English for Everyone as a resource which can be used to support and extend the comprehension of learners.

Locate the Missing Cat . . .

A colleague has been in touch about the ‘Foundations of Writing’ materials which were created by Jordanhill in the 1980s. I’m hoping that someone out there may have one of the resources to assist a Class Project in a Highland school.

We’re looking for the Picture Book Story about the cat which can be used to support a Storyline Approach.

If you have this resource, or know of someone who could point us in the right direction, please get in touch.

Thank you.
